Description

Roasted Oolong Tea is derived from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant; the same plant used to make green tea and black tea. The difference between the types of teas is how each is being processed. All tea leaves contain certain enzymes, which is involved in oxidation. Oxidation process enables the green tea leaves to have a deep black color. Oolong Tea has a color that is in between green and black as a result of its partial oxidation.

Roasted loose-leaf oolong tea has been prepared by roasting or baking the tea leaves post-harvest at low temperatures for long intervals. This results to longer shelf life, smooth texture and sweet roast flavor that balances with the slight bitterness.
